Read Matthew 5:8 ESV

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

What does it mean to be pure in heart?

The aim of Jesus is not to reform the manners of society, but to change the hearts of sinners like you and me. Your heart reveals what you are, in the secrecy of your own thoughts and feelings, when nobody knows but God. God doesn’t care so much about the rules; He cares about why we do or don’t desire to serve Him. He cares deeply about the desires of our hearts. That is why He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for you and for me-to save us all from our sins. This is personal! Jesus loves You and wants a personal relationship with you! Do you want a clean heart that is pure and full of God’s grace? What’s stopping you from asking Jesus into your heart today and receiving all the blessings He has for you?

Dear God,

We come to You with unclean hearts, for we are all sinners in need of forgiveness. Lord, we ask You to examine our hearts and help us to get rid of anything that is displeasing to You. We want to honor You with each and every thought. In order to do this, we recognize that our thoughts must be pure, honest and genuine, for You see through any false actions. We are grateful to be able to come to You and are blessed to receive Your mercy. In Jesus Name, Amen.
