Read Psalm 34:4

I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.

He freed me from all my fears.

Today’s verse is a snapshot of King David’s life in Scripture. David got a lot of things wrong. He was far from perfect. But what we can see over and over again is that David prioritized talking with God. For much of his life, it was the first thing David did. He did not make a move without talking to God first.

Scripture tells us that David was “a man after God’s own heart.” I think that can be attributed to the fact that David sought God’s heart often through prayer. David was certain that God heard him and would answer. And so prayer became his go-to mode of operation.

At Cross Creek, we too want prayer to be our go-to mode of operation.  We fully trust that God hears us and will answer our prayers. That is why we say, Prayer Leads the Way. We desire to be people who seek God in everything, allowing God to inform and transform our lives as individuals and as a church.

Are there areas of your life that God could transform if you went to Him first in prayer?  What keeps you from seeking God first and letting prayer lead the way in your own life?
