This verse is kind of like a good kick in the pants to eliminate a potential excuse for not acting on our faith. It calls us to set an example to other believers in how we speak, how we live, how we love, how we do faith and in our purity.
This call on our life is true despite our age. Timothy was young. But his life was a powerful witness to so many. The number of believers grew because of his faith, and his witness. Sometimes it is painful to examine our own thoughts, our own speech, our own actions and habits.
Using Timothy as our inspiration, you are encouraged to spend a few moments examining the example that you are setting for those in your life. Does your example point them to Jesus or does it cause them to stumble?
Ask God to give you the courage and discernment to make changes, if needed, and praise Him in advance for using you as an example through your testimony of life and transformation in His name.
