Thank you for joining us as we have worked our way through the book of Revelation. As Pastor David continues to help us unpack the rest of the book, we are going to turn our attention in our daily devotions to the different themes found in John’s writing. For the next four weeks, we’ll dive into themes in the book of Revelation and explore how they align with the rest of Scripture.
This week we will explore the themes of God’s sovereignty and the triumph of Christ.
Day 3
Read Daniel 7: 13-14 (Everlasting Dominion)
“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”

The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:
“The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”
The book of Revelation seems to draw from the powerful imagery in the book of Daniel. We can begin to make these connections from the Old Testament to the New Testament as we begin to connect the dots. Revelation 11:15 gives us a picture of this everlasting Kingdom as the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and loud voices in heaven said “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah, and He will reign for ever and ever.” God is in control!
