Freedom from Noise
“Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”” Mark 6:31
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Jesus invited His disciples: “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest” (Mark 6:31).
Solitude protects us from the constant thrum of noise and demands. In silence, we allow the Spirit to order our thoughts.
Paul writes that God’s peace, which transcends understanding, will guard our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7). Solitude unclutters the soul and reorients us to what truly matters.
Question to ponder: What types of noise are present in your life that need to be silenced for solitude with God?
