What would you love to do during your life? Do you want to vacation on a tropical island, retire, or quit your job? Is your lifestyle getting in the way? Do you really believe your life can look different than it does now? Now let’s think about what God would love you to do during your life. Does it look the same? Maybe you haven’t thought of that or maybe you want to know but you can’t figure out how to get there.
What if our attitude about life is controlling our destiny, preventing us from being who God wants us to be? We can’t retire, we still have debt. We can’t take a vacation, we do not have the money to spend. We can’t serve God, we are too busy. These facts may be true, but if our focus is on the whys and hows, we are going to spin in circles. If we want to be who God intends for us to be, we need to look at our attitude. Is it focused on money? Is it focused on things? Is it focused on others? Or is it focused on the stress of all of that?
What if we tossed aside our attitude and focused on our heart? Where is your heart leading you? If you aren’t sure, connect with God and allow Him to reveal it. If you sense a tugging on your heart, pay attention. Ask God to remove the barriers blocking you from taking a step of faith into the life God intended for you. Then you will see what God chose for your life was far better than what you could have imagined.
