Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.
This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
As I typed this, the Holy Spirit led me to the chorus line in a song that we often sing at church “Ask, seek, knock and watch the doors swing wide open!”
Let’s look deeper into this line…
Ask – means prayer, to be in conversation with God; asking for His thoughts and advice. Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Seek – seeking His perspective, what would Jesus do? Philippians 2:2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in Spirit and of one mind.
Knock – requires action from us, what is the Lord asking us to do, what’s our part? 1 John 5:2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out His commands.
Watch – requires us to wait on Him. We must remember that blessings are received on God’s time, not ours. Psalm 37:7a Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.
The door swinging wide open assures us of the many blessings to come; blessings that cannot be contained. 2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
I pray you have enjoyed this week and have taken note of all your blessings! God is good…and He loves You!!
Thank You, Lord, for Your never-ending love! We praise Your Name and desire to serve You. Thank You for guiding us and protecting us along the way in our journey to a deeper level of faith and growing closer to You, learning and obeying Your Ways. Amen
