Read Philippians 3:7-11

But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.  What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ  and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.  I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,  and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

As Christians, so many of us are content to just say we believe in Jesus and then continue on with life. We live pretty good lives, right? What more could we want? The reality is that we often struggle and strain against sin and this world using our own strength to get by. We believe that Jesus saves, but we do a lot of rescue work on our own without much credit to the Savior. Sometimes we are even pretty proud of that fact!

But, what if we decided to live like Jesus was everything– that we see all our own efforts as worthless! What if we drew our strength for living from our relationship with him!  What if we released our iron grip on control and allowed the Holy Spirit to really deliver us from this dead life?

Friends, there is so much power waiting for you! It is the most valuable thing we could ever have – and it is all a gift from a God who loves us without end.  The same power that raised Christ from the dead is available to you…to resurrect your life and bring power to your steps and your actions.
