For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Gracious Father,
Thank You for the freedom in which I can choose to live. I am grateful for the reminder today that this freedom came at a great cost to You and requires a degree of responsibility from me. Not that I have to perform to earn it, but that it is such a precious gift that I must not take it for granted and that it needs to be shared in the way that I live my life. I pray that You would help me to live so completely in that freedom that I no longer worry or work to make sure my needs are met, both physically and emotionally, but that my trust is solely in You to meet all my needs. When I can live like that, I am even more free to use that freedom to help others experience it! That’s the life I want! One where You are front and center and I am free to love and give of myself, knowing without a doubt that You fill all of my needs. Amen.
