Read Galatians 5:13-14 NLT

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Followers of Jesus experience a freedom that is unlike anything else in this world. Jesus’ single act of love changed everything! No longer are those who put their trust in Him held captive by sin, guilt, shame, and death. Jesus bore the weight of those things for us giving us a freedom no one else could offer. Jesus’ gift offers us freedom to live in the richness and blessing of God’s love…forever! That is pretty amazing. But that freedom was never intended to be solely for our own gain. It was meant to be shared with those around us in the way that we extend the very same love shown to us in Jesus Christ. Jesus calls us to use that freedom to love like He loves. Let’s prepare our hearts this week to allow God to show us how to walk each day in freedom, extending His love in every corner of our lives.
