Greet Priscilla and Aquila and the household of Onesiphorus.
Today’s verse might seem insignificant. Paul mentions Priscilla and Aquila briefly in the final remarks of a letter to Timothy, a young man who had been called to help lead the church in Ephesus where Priscilla and Aquila lived. They appear almost as a footnote at the end of Paul’s letter. But they make me think about the impact that Priscilla and Aquila must have had on Paul’s life that he continued to remember them and wish them well, many years later. He clearly loved them dearly. In Philippians 1:3-4 Paul wrote, I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy. And although those words weren’t written for Priscilla and Aquila, I believe they are a pretty accurate picture of what Paul felt for them.
When I look back over my life I can still see certain people and feel the impact they had on my life. Just the mention of their names…makes me smile. They are a part of the work which God has done in me so that I might serve and help others to know Jesus. They are my very own Priscillas and Aquilas. Do you have people that come to your mind who have helped shape your faith, encouraged you, or supported you in your faith journey? Today, take some time to pray for them and thank God for the impact they have had on your life. And maybe reach out to let them feel and see your gratitude for their willingness to walk alongside you. I guarantee it will bless them as much as they have been a blessing to you!
