The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house.
In today’s verse we see Priscilla and Aquila sending warm greetings back to the church in Corinth – the place where they began their journey with Paul. It’s just a few words but they add to creating a complete picture of who Priscilla and Aquila really were. Priscilla and Aquila had a heart for people. Here we see the evidence of their continued prayer and concern for their brothers and sisters in Corinth as well as their new found love to serve and grow a community of believers in Ephesus, right in their own home. We even see evidence that they are discipling those in their house church to pray for and have a heart for others in that they, too, send their greetings to a group of believers they have likely never even met.
Priscilla and Aquila didn’t shy away from stepping into the role of discipling others. They did whatever they could to help those around them become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, helping them to learn to live and love more and more like Jesus.
Take some time and pray for the people God has placed in your life – those who believe in Jesus and those who don’t. Ask God to show you how you might begin or continue to be a Priscilla or an Aquila in their lives – someone who welcomes them in and walks with them in life, pointing them to Jesus and what it means to follow Him.
