Read Psalm 110:2 (NKJV)
“Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.”
There are days when I don’t feel very “glad,” and I certainly don’t feel like singing! Maybe you are like me and you don’t always feel like one of the 7 dwarves whistling and singing as you head off to work? Those are the days I need a gentle reminder, like today’s verse, to check my attitude.
Everything we do we can do in service to God, and when we do, it becomes a form of worship. Which means we should be glad while doing it. We can serve with gladness because of what God has done for us. When we recognize what God has done in our lives, it changes us; it changes our motives. No longer do we serve because of what we get out of it, but rather we serve out of gratitude for His great love for us! Looking at everything I do from that perspective…kind of does make me want to sing!
Ask God to change your perspective and your attitude, and seek to serve Him with gladness today – no matter what the day brings!
