I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people
Lord,
There are a lot of things that don’t make sense to me. Pain and suffering, injustice, and evil seem to lurk around every corner. I shake my head and wonder sometimes how, in a world created by such a loving and powerful God, those things can even be a reality. This week, as I ask the question “why do bad things happen?”, would You begin to soften my heart and open my eyes to the way You see things? Help me to find peace and trust in You when I can’t make sense of the difficulties I face and the hurting world around me. Amen.
