He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive. This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord.
Tabitha was a disciple. She was always doing good and helping others. God used her, even in death, to help others believe. Perhaps the most important lesson that we can learn as we strive to BE the Church is that God worked His will through Tabitha regardless of her skills, faith, or even availability. She was dead, after all! God has the power to revive us, whether we want Him to or not. As the Church, let us continue to pray for God’s reviving power in our community: to restore our dead hearts and minds and once more be faithful disciples like Tabitha, always doing good and helping the poor.
