We move forward together
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12(NIV) Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
The weather is getting cooler and soon we will have frost on the ground. The icy slick roads can be dangerous even for the most skilled and cautious driver. I recall a time when my husband came across a car that had slid off the road. Being the helpful and strong man that he is, he quickly came to this man’s aid.
I remember watching in awe how the two men worked together to get this 2 ton vehicle out of a ditch and back onto the road in a matter of 15 minutes. It was cold and they had to work fast, and they had to work TOGETHER!! One had to provide steering. The other had to put forth physical strength to guide this weighty object back on track, out of the tracks it had made prominently in the bright white snow.
In no time at all was the car back on the road and on its merry way, my husband appreciating the warm comfort of our car and the two of us carrying on with our business for the day.
What could have put this traveler out of commission, was quickly rectified by a caring stranger who took the time to stop and help. I’m proud to say that my husband was the Good Samaritan who helped that day!
