Read Matthew 6:9-13

“This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ ”

This passage in the Bible  is often referred to as “The Lord’s Prayer.”  It might be more appropriately named “The Disciples Prayer.”  It is a prayer that Jesus taught the disciples to pray. It helps the person praying it to put God, and everything He is about, in the proper perspective. It reminds us that God is in control. It reminds us that He alone is holy and perfect. He is our daily provision, our rescuer, our redeemer and our protector.  Doubt can have no grip on us when those are the things we are focused on.

Our strongest weapons against doubt are prayer and reading God’s Word. So today, take time to pray this Scripture passage, not just as a disconnected prayer the disciples prayed thousands of years ago… but yours – as an apprentice of Jesus today. Allow the assurance of this prayer to help you set doubt aside and trust God for what you need for today.
