O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water.
God, Sometimes I feel pretty clueless. Especially when my life feels out of control and any sense of space or margin is missing. I am filled with this sense that something is missing. Like something needs to change or be fixed. I ache for a different tempo… or relief from the pace I keep. But instead of recognizing that this ache is really a need for more of You in my life, I search in vain for other ways to make it stop. I search in hope of finding peace and rest but it often evades me or is short lived. Let that stop today! Help me to recognize my need for You quickly. Let the rest and peace that you offer be what I long for. Help me not to wait until I get to the end of myself to go in search of You, but to continually seek to be in Your presence. Fill me and refresh me and keep me focused on You. Amen
