Jesus has one thing on His mind – us. The motivation for what He did here on earth – every miracle, every healing, every word he offered, the ultimate sacrifice of his own life – was to bring about one thing: it was to restore and redeem us. There were no selfish or ulterior motives, no hidden agendas. It was all an act of love that was carefully planned and delivered without a flaw according to the Father’s desire. What a beautiful example of what it looks like to selflessly serve and love others! My prayer for us today is that we would feel the weight of what Jesus did and be filled with a gratitude and love that cannot be contained. So much so that it would overflow from us and that what the people around us see and feel would look a lot like the love of Jesus. Lord, help us to shed our selfish motives and to serve and love others so that they might see only you. Amen.
