When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Prayer
God, As I reflect on the words “I am the light of the world” I am struck by the enormity of Jesus’ words. Jesus’ words depict a light powerful enough to light the way for the whole world! No candle or lantern or blazing fire could compare to the light our Savior provides. Thank you that your light overpowers the darkness of our world but still remains personal to me. You light my path. Oh what joy and hope that brings! May I seek to walk in your light all of my days. Continue to guide me and shine your light in my life. Amen.
