Read 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 NIV
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
We are big fans of beets at our house. A few years ago, I decided to try my hand at growing them in my garden. I dug a trench, put the tiny little seeds along the row, covered them up, gave them some water and waited. Fairly quickly I began to see little seedlings pop up along the row! I was so excited! What I didn’t take into consideration was the fact that each beet seed actually contains 2 or 3 seeds. So, for every seed I planted, we got 2 or three plants! We ended up with more beets than we could possibly eat and I gave tons of them away to friends and family.
Most seeds work in a similar way. If you plant one tomato seed you get an entire plant that produces multiple tomatoes. If you plant one cucumber seed, you get a vine that produces lots of cucumbers! The amazing thing is that each of those tomatoes or cucumbers are filled with more seeds that can produce more plants!
Whatever you give God, big or small, He multiplies. He will supply your need and make sure you have plenty to give away. We might be tempted to try to keep what we have for ourselves, but that is fear talking. When we put our trust fully in God, He more than provides. He offers us abundance! When we do the things that please Him, He will provide an increase. Ask God to help you trust in His provision today.
