God’s Goodness to Me

“You prepare a table before me… surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”  Psalm 23:5–6

Every valley leads somewhere.

For those who walk with Jesus, it ends at a table — a place of abundance, restoration, and joy. The same God who walked beside you in the shadows now welcomes you into His presence and honors you with His peace.

God’s goodness isn’t a temporary relief; it’s a lifelong pursuit. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me” means His love actively chases us, redeeming even what seemed lost. Where there was scarcity, He brings plenty. Where there was fear, He sets a feast of peace.

“With the goodness of God to desire our highest welfare, the wisdom of God to plan it, and the power of God to achieve it, what do we lack? Surely we are the most favored of all creatures.”  AW Tozer- The Knowledge of the Holy

When we reach the table, we realize that the Shepherd’s goal was never just to get us through the valley, but to show us what was waiting on the other side — Himself.

Something to contemplate today: How can I celebrate God’s goodness as my story of redemption continues?
