Read: Psalm 46:10 NRSV

‘Be still, and know that I am God!

I am exalted among the nations,

I am exalted in the earth.’

Have you ever felt like you were running a race that never ends? Like you had to keep up with the demands of work, family, ministry, and everything else that life throws at you? Many of us struggle with finding the right pace for our lives, especially in a world that values speed, productivity, and efficiency.

But God has a different perspective. He invites us to slow down, to be still, and to know that He is God. He wants us to rest in His presence, to trust in His sovereignty, and to worship Him for who He is. He is not impressed by how much we can do, but by how much we can love Him and others.

When we pace ourselves according to God’s will, we find peace, joy, and purpose. We also avoid burnout, stress, and anxiety. We discover that God’s pace is not a burden, but a blessing. He gives us grace and strength for each day, and He leads us beside quiet waters. He restores our soul and renews our mind.

So today, let’s take a moment to pause and reflect on God’s pace for our lives. Let’s ask Him to show us what He wants us to do, and what He wants us to let go. Let’s listen to His voice and follow His guidance. Let’s be still, and know that He is God.

Pray: Lord, thank You for being my God and my Shepherd. You know what is best for me, and You have a plan for my life. Help me to pace myself according to Your will, and to find rest in Your presence. Teach me to be still, and to know You more. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
