We continue with our devotional series “A Few of Our Favorite Things” where you’ll hear from some of our pastors and volunteers as they share how God’s Word has impacted them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
These two verses go hand in hand for me and have had a huge impact on my life and the way I choose to live it.
Matthew 6:33 has taught me to keep seeking God even when I’m discouraged and want to give up, because God will provide me with what I need. It may not be what I want, but it is what I need. Romans 12:12 goes right along with this. When God doesn’t give me what I want or maybe when I want it, this verse reminds me to be hopeful, patient, and to continue to pray about what my heart really desires. I know that God knows what is in my heart and eventually will bless me when the time is right.
