Read Psalm 18:1-2, 28-36 NIV

I love you, LORD, my strength.

The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;

    my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,

    my shield [b]  and the horn [c]  of my salvation, my stronghold.

You, LORD, keep my lamp burning;

    my God turns my darkness into light.

With your help I can advance against a troop [e] ;

    with my God I can scale a wall.

As for God, his way is perfect:

    The LORD’s word is flawless;

    he shields all who take refuge in him.

For who is God besides the LORD?

    And who is the Rock except our God?

It is God who arms me with strength

    and keeps my way secure.

He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;

    he causes me to stand on the heights.

He trains my hands for battle;

    my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

You make your saving help my shield,

    and your right hand sustains me;

    your help has made me great.

You provide a broad path for my feet,

    so that my ankles do not give way.

PRAY:

Dear Jesus,

today I lift up to You the leaders in our church; I pray for our pastors, for our ministry team leaders, and for their families. I thank You for their love for You, and for blessing them with Your strength and protection. May You continue to give them the wisdom and vision to lead our church family so that our eyes and purpose are always on You, Jesus. Help me to be a positive, encouraging, thankful member of the church and to not take for granted the effort and sacrifices that are made by our pastors, leaders and their family members. Thank You, Jesus, for “equipping Your people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4: 12-13) Amen.
