I have a new grand baby and much time has been spent trying to figure out who she looks like. She is changing so fast and as she does, our opinions about who she looks like do as well. The family resemblance is undeniable, but subtle grins, or the shape of a nose, color of eyes, or the rosiness of cheeks keep us guessing who she will look like the most.
But in Jesus’ family it isn’t hard to guess what dominant feature let’s people know without a doubt that we belong to the family. It’s love. Plain and simple. Our family resemblance should come from Jesus and the love He has shown the world. I don’t think there is anyone I would rather look like!
Lord,
Thank You for Your example of what love looks like. Let that kind of love be the thing we choose to wear every day. May others see your face and know we belong to you by the way we choose to love. Amen.
