Read 2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
Fear really only serves one purpose: to keep you alive. It is a survival response. When you are walking through the woods and you come across a giant grizzly bear…fear is very important! It is the very thing that tells your brain to not stop and pet the fuzzy bear! It actually tells your brain to RUN! That kind of fear can help you stay alive.
But other than that…fear is just no good for us. When fear becomes anxiety or worry, it’s a bad thing. It can begin to take over and rule our lives.
God did not create us to live our lives in fear. He created us with a spirit of power. A spirit that is full of love and courage.
So, what are you afraid of? Give it over to God today and know that God has given you the power to overcome it!
