Read Mark 5: 28-29

(she) touched his cloak because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

I love that this woman’s healing began with a “thought”. What we think matters! There is such power within the thoughts we choose to think. 2 Corinthians 10:5  encourages us to “….take captive every thought and make it obedient to God,” and Romans 12:2  reveals to us that our minds can be renewed “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Every thought matters, and this woman had it in her mind that if she could just touch his clothing, she would be healed. She didn’t ask for a meeting or a consultation with Jesus. She didn’t even request His attention. She believed that even the hem, the lowest and least noticeable part of His garment, carried enough power to heal her! That’s some powerful faith.

This event reveals something profound: that power wasn’t just due to proximity, but in belief. Others brushed against Jesus in the crowd, too, but nothing happened for them. Her touch was different because her faith was unwavering.

Key Point:

It’s not how close you are physically—it’s how deeply you believe.

Question:

Where have I underestimated His power? What simple act of faith can I make today?

Prayer: Jesus, help me trust that even the smallest connection with You can change everything. Amen.
