Week 1 – Prayer for your personal life
Oh, how I love your law!
I meditate on it all day long.
Your commands are always with me
and make me wiser than my enemies.
I have more insight than all my teachers,
for I meditate on your statutes.
I have more understanding than the elders,
for I obey your precepts.
I have kept my feet from every evil path
so that I might obey your word.
I have not departed from your laws,
for you yourself have taught me.
How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
I gain understanding from your precepts;
therefore I hate every wrong path.
Prov 2:6 “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your Word, which produces wisdom and understanding. Thank You for giving us the truth to live by. That we might desire to know You, to increase our wisdom and understanding as we spend time with You and study the truth of Your Word. Open our understanding to Your word and make it clear to us. Let it lead us in the path of righteousness. May we not allow the distractions of everyday life stop us from reading Your word. Reveal to me anything that might be hindering me from spending time with You. Your word is a guide to my path and will give me wisdom to make decisions that glorify You and lead others to You. Thank You, Lord! In Jesus’ name. Amen
