Read: Psalm 6:6-9 NRSV
I am weary with my moaning;
every night I flood my bed with tears;
I drench my couch with my weeping.
My eyes waste away because of grief;
they grow weak because of all my foes.
Depart from me, all you workers of evil,
for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping.
The Lord has heard my supplication;
the Lord accepts my prayer.
Mourning is not a sign of weak faith; it is often the groan of the righteous in a world marred by sin and sorrow. David weeps openly, not because he lacks hope, but because he is deeply aware of how far the world is from God’s holiness. But even in his tears, he finds assurance: “The Lord has heard.” Your weeping matters to God. He sees, He hears, and He promises a kingdom where your tears will be wiped away.
Pray: Lord, thank You for hearing my cries. Help me not to hide my mourning but to bring it to You, trusting that You are near to the brokenhearted.
