Week 1 – Prayer for your personal life
Read Psalm 119:17-20, 33-38 NIV
Be good to your servant while I live,
that I may obey your word.
Open my eyes that I may see
wonderful things in your law.
I am a stranger on earth;
do not hide your commands from me.
My soul is consumed with longing
for your laws at all times.
Teach me, LORD, the way of your decrees,
that I may follow it to the end. [b]
Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law
and obey it with all my heart.
Direct me in the path of your commands,
for there I find delight.
Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain.
Turn my eyes away from worthless things;
preserve my life according to your word. [c]
Fulfill your promise to your servant,
so that you may be feared.
PRAY:
Lord, I come to You with a servant’s heart. I want to begin each day longing for You. I pray that You give me direction for the day, speaking to me through Your Word. Holy Spirit, I pray You find a welcoming heart within me that is open to Your leading throughout my day. Teach me how to love others as You do. I want my every word and action to give honor to You and help others to see Your light in me. Amen.
