Read: 2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

On a September afternoon my son joined this great big world. After all of the visitors left, I had a quiet moment to just look at him, count all of his fingers and toes, observe a birthmark, and just be in awe of this little man. I daydreamed about his life and what I hoped it would look like.

Before we even entered the world, our Heavenly Father had dreams for us. His dream? To bring glory to His name so all can see. It was not the best college, financial success or the house with a white picket fence we may have dreamed of for our children, His dream for us is far greater. But the road will not always be easy and we will want to cling to what we hoped our dreams would be.

As our children grow we guide them, as long as we can, in the direction we had dreamed for them. They may not always choose the right direction when the path splits. In those times, we may have to let them go the road alone.

Like our children, we have freedom to take a path – but to completely fulfill God’s dream for us we do have to allow him to guide us. When we do, we will see He is walking alongside us, guiding us to His perfect plan. The cool thing is, His plan will be better than anything we could have ever dreamed.
