Read: Ephesians 2:10 (TPT)

We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!

It is the time of the year to begin the process of planting gardens! As you pick your seed packets for this year’s harvest, have you stopped to think about the DNA of seeds? Indeed, seeds have DNA, and that DNA tells the seed how to grow and what to grow into.  A pack of apple seeds with their unique DNA can produce a tree with hundreds of apples, each one slightly different than the others. Some are small, some are big, and some have worms…wait, what? No, worms are not part of their DNA!

When God created us, He gave us a unique DNA filled with our own personality, emotions, and gifts. Siblings born from the same parents may have similarities, but each is unique – set apart from anyone else.  Despite this uniqueness we so often put little value on ourselves.  Just like the worm that eats away at the apple, the sin in the world permeates us and we begin to compare, compete, and devalue ourselves. We might forget about our special DNA – but God does not. He has always considered you His greatest creation and His dream for you is to see what He sees.

As the days grow warmer and you begin planting your garden, look at each seed and remember how God made your DNA specifically for you, and that distinction brings something to the world that no other human can.
