And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
I love these words! They imply that there is no need that I could have that God cannot supply, and that His supply doesn’t run out! Amazing! And yet, there are times when I look somewhere else or to someone else to meet my needs. I am often quick to put my husband or a friend in an unfair position of meeting my needs emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I set up my closest relationships to fail because there is no way for them to possibly be able to be all that I need them to be. My guess is that from time to time we all fall into that trap of thinking another person holds the answer for us or can make everything better, and in doing so we put stressors on our relationships that they cannot bear for the long haul.
Let’s take God at His word today and look to Him alone to be the one to meet our every need. He is willing and able and just waiting for us to trust Him completely.
