John 8:12:  ”When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”“

Proverbs 3:6: ”in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.“

Psalm 91:13: ”If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.“

John 8:12 encapsulates the “Amen” to the Old Testament’s promises to those who take shelter under God’s salvation by pointing to Jesus’ proclamation of himself as the ultimate source of guidance and truth.

It speaks to the transformative power of following his teachings, leading us out of spiritual darkness into the illuminating clarity of truth and life.

It’s a call to embrace his teachings, finding direction, purpose, and eternal life through faith in Him, shedding light on the path amidst life’s uncertainties and challenges.

“Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Think of a time when you felt God guiding you?  What was that like?  How did you know it was Him?

If you’ve never experienced the guidance of Jesus, consider what might have brought you to read these words… and what this promise means to you.

PRAY: Spend some time in prayer meditating on Jesus’ Promise of Guidance
