So then, surrender to God. Stand up to the devil and resist him and he will flee in agony.
This verse has been a game-changer in my life. For so many years my mind seemed to have control over my life. Although I walked my life with God by my side, I couldn’t fight the incessant thoughts of defeat. One day this verse was shared with me, and it changed my life. I realized these thoughts were not of God but rather Satan. They were meant to tear me down and keep me from living the life God had intended for me. I now had a tool to fight them off. Now when I catch my thoughts leading me in the wrong direction, I recite “Satan, get out of my head in the name of Jesus Christ!” It works every time!
We are made in God’s image, not Satan’s. We are on this earth for God’s purpose, not Satan’s. Our God has overcome, not Satan. No matter what we think of ourselves, we are loved. Instead of living in self-abuse, let Satan have the abuse. Allow God to take over and command the devil flee in agony.
