I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
These are some of Jesus’s last words exchanged with his disciples during their last meal together. They came on the heels of an extraordinary display of His love for them…we’ll get to that later this week! But He used it as an opportunity to continue to teach His disciples what loving others really looks like. He set an example for them…and for us!
Jesus was the best teacher around! So this week we will learn from His example. Each day we will look at another way of how Jesus showed love to those around him and reflect on what we can learn from His example.
For today – let’s get our hearts pointed in the right direction with prayer.
Jesus,
Thank You for Your amazing example and display of love. We ask that, as we look at the ways You showed love, You would open our eyes and our hearts to love like You loved. If our pride is in the way of us loving like You do – convict of that and change our hearts. If stubbornness is in the way… make us humble and willing to change. If anger or hurt is in the way… soften and heal our hearts. Make us more like you! Amen.
