READ 1 Samuel 24:12-13

May the Lord judge between you and me. And may the Lord avenge the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you. As the old saying goes, ‘From evildoers come evil deeds,’ so my hand will not touch you.

We live in a very self-confident world where pride can easily blind us and be our downfall, just as it was for Saul. David reminds us of who is really in control. He puts his trust in the One who sees all, hears all, and knows all. David trusts in God to protect him and to bring about justice. David is fully reliant on God because of His promises:

Romans 2:6 God will repay each person according to what they have done.

Jeremiah 17:10 “I, the Lord, search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”

Revelation 22:12 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.”

What do you need to let go of? How will you rest in God’s promise and trust Him to fight for you?
