Read Luke 1:26-38
Main Verse: Luke 1:38 “ ‘I am the Lord’s servant,’ Mary answered. ‘May your word to me be fulfilled.’ Then the angel left her.”
Mary’s response to the angel was extraordinary! If it had been me in her shoes, I am certain my response would have been pretty different! It had to have sounded crazy to Mary! A baby?! Impossible! Improbable! Terrifying! The easy thing would have been for her to say, “No thanks…I’m good with my life the way it is.” But, her response was complete obedience to God’s plan. Mary’s simple and humble obedience allowed God to use her to provide a miracle that would ultimately change the world.
How often in our own lives have we felt like what God was asking us to do was just plain crazy, and possibly terrifying? How many times have we missed out on the blessing of being a part of the miracle God has designed because we weren’t obedient or we were too afraid? Seek to be obedient this week. The miracle that God wants you to be a part of might just change eternity for someone.
