Read Proverbs 16:3 NIV
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
The Bible is our guide to living life as the Lord intended. Our Creator desires for us to follow His plans.
Jesus shared a parable in Luke 6:48 about wise and foolish builders. Jesus begins with a question: “Why do you call me Lord and not do as I say?” He announces “Anyone who hears my words and puts them into practice, is like the man building a house who digs down deep to lay the foundation on rock.” He affirms that when the flood came and torrent struck, the house was not shaken because it was well built on a strong foundation. But, Jesus cautions that the one who hears but does not put his words into practice is like the man who builds his house on no foundation. This house will be destroyed.
My house recently had water pouring into the basement, because the foundation had settled. I am grateful the house was not destroyed, but it was shaken. The repair process required action from many people: my husband, the water department, myself, my daughter, Dig safely, a trusted friend, and my dad. We all had things we had to do to prevent further damage and contribute to the repairs.
