“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:18
“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” Revelation 12:11
Today, let’s talk about your testimony as words of love.
As Christians, we all have a story. The story of how you came to know God and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord.
In Revelation 12:11, the “him” John is talking about is “the accuser” which is the devil. The “they” John is talking about are the “brothers and sisters” – the Christians.
Notice how in Revelation 12:11 John didn’t say “ They triumphed over him by a few really cool stories from a couple of the brothers and sisters”. It says they overcame him “by the word of their testimony.”
Their testimony, and ours, is the story of how God was knocking on our door, and what happened when we let Him in. That we confessed Jesus Christ is Lord and were changed.
Did you ever stop to think that your story of faith, of how God met you where you were, and the love of Jesus that you felt, and your confession of Jesus as Savior, are the very words of love God has given you for someone else?
God can use your testimony as words of love to those who are still captive to the world and don’t know Jesus. Don’t think for a second that He can’t!
Pray for the opportunity to both say and show your testimony – and trust that God will use it in Jesus’ name to triumph over the accuser.
