Now that we have completed the Book of Esther, I want to bring something to your attention that you may have missed: the Lord, our God, was never mentioned anywhere at any time.
I want to reassure you, that although God’s name is absent, He is very much present throughout the entire story, just as He is in your story.
Here are just a few examples:
Let’s begin with Esther’s exceptional beauty. This was a gift from God, given to her that assisted her in becoming Queen. God created Esther to be a woman of character favored by Hegai; His love, mercy and compassion are seen in the many ways the Lord protected and provided for her. Throughout the story, Esther displays a quiet trust in God, keeping her faith as well as her nationality a secret.
Mordecai was granted access to the palace and God placed him in just the right places at the most opportune times to help prepare Esther to lead to Jews to victory.
Mordecai believes that (God) has been the One to prepare Esther for such a time as this. He shared his belief and how Esther’s fear is replaced by FAITH when she makes the decision to approach the king. The rest of the story simply unfolds revealing to us how the Lord works all things for the greater good.
The Book of Esther takes place during the time when Jews were living in exile in Persia. Although it may appear as though God was not working to save the Jews from their enemies, it is clear by the end of the story that He was never inactive, but constantly working all things for the greater good.
You see, even though His Name is not mentioned in Esther’s story, He is clearly there! The Lord, Our God is EVER present.

Esther: Silent but Sovereign by Carolyn Lacey
Dear Lord,
Thank You for always being with us; for NEVER leaving or forsaking us! Even when we don’t see You, You are working. Help us to remember we are never alone; that we can trust in You for anything and everything. Thank You for loving us, caring for us, providing & protecting us always. In Jesus Name, Amen
