Haman was impaled and Queen Esther was given his estate. Esther filled the king in on her relationship with Mordecai. The king rewarded Mordecai with the signet ring he had reclaimed from Haman. Esther appointed Mordecai ruler of Haman’s estate.
Esther pleaded with the king, falling at his feet, weeping and begging for him to cancel the evil plan against the Jews. Because the King had previously signed this agreement, he could not revoke it; however the king encouraged Esther and Mordecai to write another decree. The decree was written by Mordecai and the Jews were granted permission to defend themselves; to destroy, kill and annihilate the army of men from any nationality or providence who might attack them, their women or children, and to plunder the property of their enemies. The Jews struck down all their enemies, killing and destroying them. Because of the new decree, instead of facing death and defeat, the Jews saw triumph and victory!! All because Esther did not give up and because of her persistence, her life and the lives of her people were saved!
The lesson here: don’t give up! Continue to pray and let the Lord know the desires of your heart.
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
Dear Lord,
Thank You for hearing the desires of our hearts and knowing just what to do to bring about the victory. Let us never grow weary of doing good, as it is all for Your glory. Amen
