Read Ephesians 5:1-2 CSB
Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children, and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.
Today, we begin our summer devotional series journeying through the book of Ephesians, titled “Live Worthy.” This week, we will spend time exploring a little historical context and background to give us a good foundation to be able to get the most from our study of Ephesians.
Ephesians is a book all about faith and putting it into practice, which is sometimes easier said than done! So, let’s begin by asking God to be with us on this journey.

Heavenly Father,
As we begin this journey through Ephesians, we ask that you meet us there. We thank you for the miraculous way that you have revealed yourself through Scripture and the writers who faithfully penned all that you desire to teach us. Show yourself to us in your Word and give us a hunger to really know your heart. Strengthen our faith as we marvel at the truth of your salvation. Humble us as we begin to comprehend the gravity and magnitude of your love for us. And make us bold to begin living out our faith unapologetically. Change us by your Word, making us new, and send us out as apprentices to show the world who you are. Amen.
