Read: Psalm 63:8 “I cling to You; Your right hand upholds me”.
David clung to God, but he also knew something even more beautiful: God was holding him.
There may be days when your faith feels weak. Even then, God’s hand is steady.
The first memory verse I ever learned was during a very overwhelming season in my life. Fear and anxiety threatened to take over, and I desperately wanted to learn how to tuck God’s Word into my heart. A friend shared her favorite verse with me, and it was just what I needed. Isaiah 41:13 says, “For I am the Lord, your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear, I am with you.”
She shared with me that when she would repeat this verse to herself, she would squeeze her right hand tightly so she could imagine feeling the strength of God’s hand holding hers! Oh wow! And just like that, I memorized my first verse! I repeated it so often and squeezed my hand tight every single time.
This verse lives forever within my heart, and I have shared the very same story so many times with other people. I am reminded that when I feel weak, God is the strength I need…every time!
The wilderness teaches us dependence and reminds us that our strength comes from Him.
Reflection: Where do I need to stop striving and simply rest in God’s grip?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for holding me up with Your strength! Today, I will cling to Your hand and never let go!
