Each week of devotions throughout our Live Worthy series on Ephesians will be spent on a single chapter. We encourage you to re-read the chapter each day. Additionally, we will focus on a few key verses each day. This week, we will focus on chapter 3 of Ephesians
Read: Ephesians 3
Read: Ephesians 3:11-12 (NIV) “according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.”
Paul emphasizes that this grand plan of God’s wisdom and the mystery of Christ is “according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This means it’s not a new idea, but part of God’s timeless, sovereign design. The incredible result for us is that “in him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.” This is a radical shift! Before Christ, access to God was limited and mediated. Now, through Jesus’ sacrifice, we have direct, unhindered access to the Father. We don’t need to fear or hesitate; we can come boldly to His throne of grace, knowing we are welcomed and loved.
Pray: Gracious God, thank You for the incredible privilege of approaching You with freedom and confidence through Christ Jesus. Help us to fully embrace this access, casting off fear and doubt, and drawing near to You in prayer and worship. Amen.
