Read: Ephesians 3:9-10 (NIV) “and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms”
Here, Paul reveals a breathtaking cosmic purpose for the Church. God’s intent in revealing this mystery (the unity of Jew and Gentile in Christ) was not just for humanity, but “that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms.” The “manifold wisdom” (polypoikilos in Greek) means “multi-faceted,” “diverse,” or “many-splendored.” It’s like a diamond with countless brilliant facets. The Church, in its diverse unity, reflecting God’s unifying love and redemptive plan, becomes a living demonstration of God’s incredible wisdom to spiritual beings, both good and evil. Our unity in diversity preaches a powerful sermon to the unseen world.
Pray: Almighty God, Your wisdom is truly beyond our grasp, yet You choose to display it through Your Church. Help us, as Your people, to live in such unity and love that we truly reflect Your multi-faceted wisdom to the world and to the spiritual realms. Amen.
