Read: 1 Peter 1:13-16

Therefore prepare your minds for action; discipline yourselves; set all your hope on the grace that Jesus Christ will bring you when he is revealed. Like obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires that you formerly had in ignorance. Instead, as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; for it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’

What does it mean to GO when God calls us? Looking through the examples provided in scripture, we see that God often sends his workers into dangerous, unknown situations to work for the big, future plan. We learned not to expect immediate success but to expect God’s plan to be difficult and even rejected outright by the world. The apostles taught the new believers to give generously in fellowship together.

Let Peter’s words be our benediction as we conclude the first week with our new command: GO! As he who called you is holy, be holy in yourselves in all your conduct. To be holy is to act in accordance with God’s will and not to seek our own desires. We are to be obedient, relentless, anonymous, generous, and courageous carriers of the Holy Spirit.
