There have been times in my life when I just wanted things to be different – to be new. Maybe you have felt it, too. The desire to stand up and just shake off the heaviness and fear, worry and discontent, shame, or sin and step into a brand new season. These verses remind me that it is possible to be made new by choosing to follow Jesus. Jesus made my heart new the day I chose to have a relationship with Him – but what’s more is that I am made new through Christ each day as I choose to follow Him again and again! He wants the same for you! We have the power to shake off the fear and the worry… whatever weighs heavy on us… and give it to God allowing him to continue His wonderful new work in us. What a magnificent gift God offers to anyone who would believe in Him!
Holy Spirit,
Thank You for making me new – for changing me from the inside out. Sin no longer gets to determine who I am – but You do. I am Yours! Continue Your work in my heart transforming me each day into who You are calling me to be. Let the image of Jesus be what the world sees in me and may that bring You honor and praise. Thank You for loving me then and loving me still. Amen
