Read 1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

I am struck by four words in our verse today: “Let nothing move you.” That feels like a tall order some days. Maybe you have had some of those days, too. The days when anything and everything goes wrong or feels out of whack. Those are the days when I am tempted to allow patience, kindness, and self control to go right out the window. Those are the days I wish I could take back a few of my words or rewind some of my actions. Those are the days when I feel like I am being swept away into a turbulent current of my circumstances and taken miles off course from the life God has planned for me.

Those are the days I actually need the reminder of those four words to be strong and not allow worry or fear, or my circumstances to knock me off balance. I can remain unmoved by the chaos swirling around me if I remember what my end goal is. The struggles I face now are temporary. My end goal is eternal. It is complete surrender and service to a great God – seeking to live as He has designed and to be a light to others.
